A very shocking case has come to light from Karnataka’s capital Bengaluru. A Along with Munirathna his associates are also named in the FIR. The case comes after a 40-year-old woman, who case has been registered against BJP MLA and former Karnataka minister Munirathna Naidu. identifies as a BJP worker, accused them of gang rape.
The woman accused them of rape, physical abuse, and alleged that they forced an injection with an unknown virus into her body. She also claimed that Munirathna urinated on her face. The woman lodged a formal complaint on May 19, 2025, at the RMC Yard police station in Bengaluru. However, she alleged that the incident took place on June 11, 2023, at Munirathna’s office in Mathikere, Bengaluru.
Sexually assaulted, urinated on face
According to the FIR filed by the woman, she was taken to the MLA’s office under the false promise of help in getting criminal charges against her dropped. She alleges that these cases were fabricated by Munirathna himself.
Once there, the MLA and two of his aides, identified as Vasantha and Channakeshawa, reportedly stripped her and threatened to kill her son. Munirathna allegedly ordered the two men to sexually assault her while he watched. She further claims that Munirathna urinated on her face after the act.
Injected with Unknown Substance
The gruesome act did not end here. The woman in her complaint made a disturbing allegation that a fourth, unidentified man entered the room carrying a white box. The woman alleged that Munirathna took a syringe from the box and injected her with an unknown substance. She believes this injection caused a serious health condition diagnosed months later.
According to reports following the incident the woman’s health started to deteriorate. She was later hospitalized and diagnosed with a reportedly incurable virus. She attributes the infection to the injection she received during the assault.
On May 19, overwhelmed by trauma and deteriorating health, she attempted suicide by consuming pills. The suicide attempt led to her hospitalization and eventual approach to the police.
Investigation ongoing
Following this the police have registered the case under various sections of IPC. This includes 376D (gangrape), 270 (malignant act likely to spread infection), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 354 (outraging modesty of a woman), 504, 506, 509, and 34 (common intention).
Munirathna, a two-time MLA from the Rajarajeshwari Nagar constituency, has not commented on the controversy. No arrests have been made so far, and the investigations are ongoing.
