The India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026 has officially unveiled the ‘Viksit Tech 47’ platform, an initiative aimed at supporting and promoting Indian technology firms and leaders. The launch is intended to enhance these companies’ ability to establish global brands and elevate India’s position in the international technology landscape, as reported in an official announcement.

Overview of the Initiative

This initiative will be integrated into the upcoming 10th edition of IMC, set to take place from October 7 to October 10 at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in New Delhi. Techarc, a technology analytics, research, and consulting firm, will serve as the research partner for this initiative, as noted in a press release.

As part of the ‘Viksit Tech 47’ initiative, a major report will be published during IMC 2026. This report will be based on an extensive evaluation of over 200 Indian technology companies, along with insights gathered through discussions with industry founders and experts. The report aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of India’s current positioning within the global technology value chain.

The platform will encompass various technology sectors, including consumer devices, wearable technology, audio and video surveillance, connected mobility, smart homes and the Internet of Things (IoT), as well as components and manufacturing, artificial intelligence, deep tech, and software-as-a-service (SaaS) platforms. The primary objective is to spotlight the firms and individuals that contribute significantly to India’s self-reliance, electronic design capabilities, and domestic intellectual property development.

Awards and Recognition

In addition to its primary goals, ‘Viksit Tech 47’ will also include the Dr Zarabi Indigenisation Award for Startups. This award aims to recognise startups actively engaged in design, engineering, and manufacturing of hardware, gadgets, devices, and appliances previously reliant on imports. This recognition is expected to encourage innovation and enhance domestic production capabilities.

The announcement of this initiative precedes the highly anticipated 10th edition of the India Mobile Congress, which is being organised by the Department of Telecommunications in collaboration with the Cellular Operators Association of India. The event is projected to attract over 150,000 attendees and feature more than 300 exhibitors and partners from upwards of 100 countries, showcasing over 1,500 technology applications.

‘Viksit Tech 47’ is positioned within the larger framework of the Viksit Bharat vision for 2047. The underlying theme for IMC 2026 is “Scale Without Boundaries,” highlighting the platform’s aspiration to propel Indian technology beyond national confines in the years to come. This initiative seeks to initiate a journey of transforming India’s technological prowess into global recognition and success.
