The CSR Journal Magazine

Ayodhya’s Deepotsav celebrations have attracted a diverse group of foreign tourists, including an Argentine researcher and two Russian visitors, who sought to immerse themselves in the town’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage. The festivities featured vibrant fireworks and an innovative drone show that depicted scenes from the Ramayana, held on Saturday night. The Uttar Pradesh government reported these developments in a late-night statement.

Branco, the Argentine researcher, visited Ayodhya as part of his academic study on the Ramayana. His journey aimed to deepen his understanding of Indian spiritual traditions. In addition to Ayodhya, Branco explored other significant locations such as Varanasi, Mathura, Agra, and Amritsar. He described his experience in India as remarkable, expressing a sense of belonging among the local people. Despite being alone, he felt secure and comfortable, considering his visit during Diwali a fortunate opportunity.

Maria and Alexandra, who journeyed from St Petersburg, Russia, also came to Ayodhya in search of spiritual enrichment. They were captivated by the town’s religious customs, cultural vibrancy, and the grandeur of the Deepotsav celebrations. Their presence highlights Ayodhya’s increasing allure for international tourists keen on exploring Indian culture, faith, and spirituality.

Drone Show Depicts Ramayana Scenes

The tenth edition of Deepotsav showcased an impressive display of indigenous drone technology at Ram Ki Paidi. The night sky was illuminated with formations that depicted various episodes from the Ramayana, including images of Lord Ram in a heroic stance, the defeat of Ravana, the Pushpak Viman, Ram Darbar, and the Ram Janmabhoomi temple. The drone show also featured formations of Lakshman, Hanuman, sage Valmiki, and poet Tulsidas, all of which mesmerised the audience.

A large crowd gathered at the venue, comprising children, young adults, and elderly individuals, all eager to witness the spectacle. Many attendees captured the illuminated formations on their mobile devices, and the presentation was met with applause and chants of “Jai Shri Ram.” The celebrations were further enhanced by an eco-friendly fireworks display along the banks of the Saryu River, which transformed the night sky into a vibrant canvas of lights.

As the fireworks commenced, spectators along the ghats watched in excitement, while devotees and tourists documented the event with their cameras. The illuminated riverfront, combined with the glow of lamps and the festive atmosphere, contributed to the grandeur of the tenth Deepotsav. Visitors expressed their enthusiasm about the celebrations, highlighting the event’s significance.

Local Residents Share Their Experiences

Local resident Yash Sonkar described the drone show as a remarkable experience, while another attendee, Aman, noted the display’s visual appeal and recorded several moments on his mobile phone. Chhavi, an Ayodhya resident, remarked on the joy of witnessing a large gathering of people celebrating together at Ram Ki Paidi, calling it a memorable experience.

Shashwat Mishra, who travelled from Varanasi and visited Ayodhya for the first time during this tenth edition, expressed his amazement at the city’s festive atmosphere. He noted that the entire city was alive with celebrations, with chants of “Jai Shri Ram” resonating throughout various locations. The city, adorned with lamps and filled with enthusiastic visitors, made the occasion truly unforgettable.

The Deepotsav celebrations not only highlighted Ayodhya’s cultural significance but also showcased its growing appeal as a destination for international tourists seeking a deeper understanding of Indian traditions and spirituality.
