CM Yogi Adityanath Discusses Investment Opportunities in Singapore

On February 23, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath convened with a delegation led by Lim Chow Kiat, CEO of the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC). The discussions focused on promoting long-term institutional investments in Uttar Pradesh, emphasising sectors such as infrastructure, logistics, industrial parks, and sustainable urban development initiatives. In a post on ‘X’, the Chief Minister acknowledged the fruitful dialogue and expressed appreciation for GIC’s current collaborations in the state, particularly its involvement with the IRB in the Ganga Expressway project. He stated, “Had a fruitful meeting with Lim Chow Kiat and his delegation, explored avenues for long term institutional investments in Uttar Pradesh.”

Meeting with Temasek Chairman

During the same visit, Chief Minister Adityanath also met with Teo Chee Hean, Chairman of Temasek. Their discussions revolved around potential investment opportunities in various sectors within Uttar Pradesh, which included data centers, logistics hubs, renewable energy, and industrial infrastructure. The Chief Minister remarked on the productive nature of their meeting, indicating that conversations touched on sovereign investment participation in the state’s growing economic landscape. He noted, “Discussed opportunities for sovereign investment participation in Uttar Pradesh across data centres, logistics hubs, renewable energy and industrial infrastructure.”

Objectives of the Singapore Visit

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s visit to Singapore, taking place from February 22 to 24, aims to enhance economic collaboration and institutional partnerships between Uttar Pradesh and Singapore. This official trip aligns with the India-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) Roadmap, which outlines key priorities such as economic cooperation, digital transformation, skills enhancement, sustainability, connectivity, and advanced manufacturing.

High-Level Meetings Planned

Throughout his visit, the Chief Minister is scheduled to engage in high-level meetings with notable Singaporean leaders, including Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan. Additional discussions are planned with Tan See Leng, Minister for Manpower and Minister-in-charge of Energy and Science and Technology Tharman Shanmugaratnam. These meetings are expected to further solidify ties and pave the way for future collaborations in various sectors.
