BJP leaders initiated a cleanliness and public service drive at Ramniwas Bagh in Jaipur on September 25, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. The event was marked by the presence of BJP National President Nitin Nabin and involved the recognition of several sanitation workers. Balmukund Acharya, a prominent BJP figure, emphasised that the campaign is fundamentally aligned with Upadhyaya’s philosophy of ‘Antyodaya,’ which aims to extend the advantages of government schemes to the most marginalized members of society.

Acharya articulated the significance of the day’s programme, noting its objective to put the ideals of ‘Antyodaya’ into actionable terms. He remarked, “Antyodaya means ensuring that the benefits of schemes, whether from the Rajasthan government or the Central government, reach the very last person in the queue.” This focus underscores the party’s commitment to inclusive governance as a part of its public service mission.

In addition to the cleanliness initiative, Acharya highlighted the honouring of sanitation workers, presenting them with kits as part of the event. He mentioned that such occasions are seen as opportunities for service rather than mere celebrations, reinforcing the party’s broader vision of development and public welfare.

Critique of Rahul Gandhi Amid Campaign Activities

During his address, Balmukund Acharya also took the opportunity to critique Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. He accused Gandhi of associating with anti-national entities and making disparaging remarks about senior political figures. Acharya stated, “Rahul Gandhi ji has made a habit of standing with anti-national forces,” suggesting that the leader exhibits a pattern of disrespect towards national sentiments.

Acharya expressed concerns regarding Gandhi’s political relevance, insinuating that his interactions with younger demographics indicate a shift driven by a dwindling support base. “Rahul Gandhi today, at the age of fifty-five or sixty, is looking for his political path with 10-15-20-year-old kids,” he remarked, reflecting on a perceived disconnect with broader voter sentiments.

Furthermore, Acharya highlighted BJP’s success in recent Municipal Corporation elections as evidence of the party’s grassroots strength, contrasting it with Congress’s lack of success. He advised Gandhi to adopt a more measured approach when engaging in political discourse, especially concerning criticisms aimed at the Election Commission.

Details of the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign

Urban Development and Housing Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra elaborated on the official components of the day’s events, introducing the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva 2026’ campaign, launched under the Viksit Bharat Janseva Abhiyan. He administered a cleanliness pledge to the attendees and participated in tree planting activities alongside sanitation workers, emphasising the importance of community involvement in such initiatives.

Kharra elucidated the day’s agenda, noting that after the cleanliness activities, the BJP National President would engage with party office bearers and workers regarding upcoming Panchayat elections. In the afternoon, an address would be delivered at the state-level conference for newly elected BJP councillors, fitting into the broader context of Upadhyaya’s legacy.

The minister anticipated that Nabin’s visit would invigorate party supporters as they reflect on the state government’s tenure. Kharra also highlighted pressing issues such as law and order, educational integrity, and the significance of controlling electoral processes through initiatives like the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), aiming to safeguard electoral coherence amid ongoing political debates.
