Chennai, India: Thryve Digital Health, a leading provider of Healthcare technology and operations services, has set a new World Record for vaccinating the largest number of community dogs in a single day. Organized in partnership with Heaven for Animals – a Chennai-based NGO focused on animal welfare, the company undertook the vaccination of about 1111 dogs as a part of Canvax 2023 on 8th October 2023 at Crescent Ground, Shenoy Nagar, Chennai.
Many eminent personalities including Dr Radhakrishnan IAS (Commissioner of Greater Chennai Corporation); Nandha Kumar IRS (Joint Commissioner Income Tax; MK Mohan (MLA Anna Nagar); Rani Ravichandran (Councillor); Alisha Abdullah (National Racing Champion); MV Chowdhary (State Chairman TN MSME Promotion Council) and film personalities Namitha, Santhosh Pratap, and Parvati Nair flagged off the event.
This one-of-a-kind record is authorized by the World Records Union, the official registrar for world records.
As a part of its TALL (Thryve Animal Lifeline League) initiative, “Thryve For Good”, Thryve’s CSR arm supports the care of community animals with such interventions including smaller activities like the installation of water bowls across the city of Chennai. As part of this drive, over 1000 community dogs were vaccinated with a 9-in-1 vaccine that included anti-Rabies, DHPPI (7-in-1) and deworming.
Speaking about this, Bala Sankaranarayanan, President and CEO, Thryve Digital Health, said, “We believe in harnessing the power of innovation and compassion to create a healthier and happier world. Extending focus beyond the millions of members and patients we currently support, to the loyal four-legged friends in our local communities via the ‘Thryve For Good’ agenda, is truly a privilege.”
Community dogs, often referred to as stray dogs, are a major part of every Indian city’s ecosystem. However, with the passage of time, there is a decreasing attention toward the welfare of these canine neighbours who voluntarily and selflessly guard the cities, especially the residential areas. As a part of the mission to ensure a healthier and safer world around us, we at Thryve Digital envisaged the event that was successfully executed in collaboration with Heaven for Animals.
Speaking on the program Arvind Srinivasan, CFO & Head Of CSR, Thryve Digital Health, said “As part of our constant quest to effect meaningful impact within our communities, the community dog vaccination program got our attention as something that was truly deserving. The World Record attempt is to focus the world’s attention on how much good we can all do, if only we look around us, and work together.”
Thryve has a CSR agenda that is closely aligned with the organizational vision of creating a healthier and happier world. Under its CSR program called ‘Thryve for Good,’ the company supports communities with multiple interventions across the spectrum of health and wellness. Some of the other initiatives undertaken by Thryve include providing an ambulance equipped with critical life-saving equipment to the Chennai Police Hospital, multiple laptop distribution campaigns for underprivileged students, blood donation camps, providing for life-saving equipment in labs and hospitals, organizing large urban afforestation programs, and supporting various programs of the National Association for Blind.
