Khichdi Experiment Gives Back to Community
Khichdi Experiment, the flagship brand of Ola Foods, has kicked off the second phase of its ‘Feed the Hungry’ campaign, which saw it initiating the distribution of 25,000 meals, pledged by customers, at Bellandur in Bengaluru. The next rounds of food distribution will take place across five cities over the next few weeks.
As a part of the Daan Utsav week, Ola launched the ‘Feed the Hungry’ campaign on its app where customers could pledge INR 5 per ride towards a meal for the underprivileged. Through Khichdi Experiment, a wholesome (~550 calories/bowl) bowl of khichdi is being distributed for every pledge received. The company is leveraging its vast user base spanning millions of customers to support the initiative. The campaign saw a total of 25,000 Khichdi bowls being pledged towards the cause.
The distribution event saw a host of Ola employees and volunteers from a zero-funds organization – Robin Hood Army, participate, manage the ambitious undertaking and mobilize recipients of the meals. Pranay Jivrajka, Founding Partner Ola and CEO, Ola Foods, “We are mindful of contributing to the society in multiple ways and are proud to leverage our technology and vast customer base towards such an important cause. We are happy to share our newly launched Khichdi Experiment dishes with people in need and want to take this initiative forward in a bigger way in the coming months. This has been made possible mainly due to the commitment from our customers and voluntary organizations as we strive to reach the goal of zero hunger.”
