3.1 Magnitude Quake Hits Amreli, No Damage Reported

A 3.1 magnitude earthquake struck Amreli district in Gujarat on Sunday, with no immediate reports of injuries or property damage. The tremor occurred at 4:10 PM, according to the Institute of Seismological Research situated in Gandhinagar. The epicenter of the quake was identified approximately 42 kilometers south-southeast of Amreli, at a shallow depth of 11.6 kilometers.

No Casualties or Damage Reported

Officials confirmed that there were no injuries or material damage as a result of this seismic event. The recent tremor follows a 3.2 magnitude earthquake that hit the Rajkot district of the Saurashtra region just six days earlier. Community members expressed awareness of the tremors, noting that several mild shakes have been felt in Amreli recently.

Local Authorities Respond

Mahesh Kaswala, a Member of the Legislative Assembly representing Savarkundla, stated that the tremor on Sunday was distinctly felt by residents. He mentioned that the Sarpanch of Mityala village confirmed the sensations experienced by local inhabitants. In response to these seismic activities, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has pledged to dispatch a technical team to conduct further inspections in Amreli.
