Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced that his administration will issue appointment letters to one lakh young people within the next six months. This statement was made during an appointment letter distribution event on August 25, 2026, where he critiqued the recruitment practices prior to 2017. The Chief Minister highlighted the need for a transparent and efficient recruitment system in the state.

At the event, CM Yogi explained that his government has successfully provided over 9.30 lakh government jobs over the past nine-and-a-half years, with no appointments contestable in court. He stated, “From day one, we resolved to break the pre-2017 pattern where recruitment advertisements were issued primarily for only a select few.” He noted that such practices had left many youth without direction.

He further reassured the youth of Uttar Pradesh, specifying that the government aims to distribute these appointment letters in weekly batches. This method, according to him, will ensure that deserving candidates receive opportunities without bias or discrimination.

Addressing Issues of Corruption

During the announcement, CM Yogi acknowledged the challenges faced by youth in the previous recruitment system, attributing the failures to corrupt practices among individuals in recruitment commissions and the political landscape of prior governments. He stated that the perception of youth as unemployable had largely stemmed from systemic corruption rather than the capabilities of young candidates.

CM Yogi asserted that when selected candidates are chosen based on merit, the benefits extend across the entire state. He also reiterated his government’s commitment to a zero-tolerance policy towards crime, vowing to dismantle the operations of the so-called “cheating mafia” entrenched within various institutions. His administration aims to bring these corrupt individuals to justice.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence in the resilience and potential of the state to overcome past negative perceptions, suggesting that initiatives from his government have transformed Uttar Pradesh into a more attractive place for both employment and investment.

Job Opportunities and Sugar Supply

In addition to employment announcements, CM Yogi addressed concerns regarding a potential sugar crisis in Uttar Pradesh. He declared that there is currently no shortage of sugar, with a stock of 28 lakh tonnes available to meet the state’s monthly consumption of 4 lakh tonnes. The Chief Minister assured that sugar mills will resume operations on October 15, which is expected to yield an additional 90 lakh tonnes of sugar.

Furthermore, he highlighted the increasing demand for Uttar Pradesh’s youth in international markets. CM Yogi mentioned that foreign countries, including Japan, Germany, and Israel, are expressing interest in hiring young people from the state. He revealed that a significant delegation from Japan has shown particular interest in offering job opportunities to Uttar Pradesh youth.

Additionally, CM Yogi noted that about 5,000 young individuals have already been sent to Israel, where they reportedly earn Rs 1.5 lakh per month, alongside benefits such as free food and lodging. He pointed out the transformation of Uttar Pradesh from its previous status as a ‘Bimaru’ state, stating that serious issues such as crime and farmer suicides have significantly declined under his administration.
