A new chapter in grassroots sports development is set to unfold in Ahmedabad with the inauguration of the SRT10 Altevol Centre of Excellence Cricket Academy. This high-performance training facility, which is supported by renowned cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, will officially open on April 10. Aimed at delivering top-notch cricket training to aspiring players aged five and above, the academy marks a significant addition to the region’s sports landscape.
Comprehensive Training Modules and Facilities
The academy is built on plans previously announced last year and begins its operations by emphasizing technique, fitness, and structured growth pathways for its trainees. The center is strategically located at Shankus Farm, close to Vaishnodevi Circle on SG Road, within a sprawling 40,000 square yard sports campus designed to facilitate holistic athlete development.
This expansive campus incorporates elite infrastructure elements, including professional cricket nets, an in-house match-ready ground, a gymnasium focused on high performance, and a dedicated running track. These facilities are typically reserved for high-level training environments, promising to provide young athletes with a competitive edge.
Building on a Strong Foundation
The inauguration in Ahmedabad represents an extension of the strong foundational work established by the SRT10 ecosystem. This ecosystem includes the flagship SRT10 Global Academy located at the DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai, which has already emerged as a premier destination for sports training. The academy prioritizes not only the development of athletes but also the nurturing of well-rounded individuals through a structured curriculum and international-standard facilities.
