In Karnataka’s Davanagere district, a woman named Vidya was severely injured after her husband, Vijay, allegedly bit off the tip of her nose following an argument about unpaid loan installments. The couple, residents of Mantaraghatta village in Channagiri taluk, had reportedly been under pressure due to mounting harassment from lenders. Vijay had acted as a guarantor for the loan, and tensions escalated when Vidya missed payments.

The confrontation occurred on July 8, during which Vidya fell to the ground amid the quarrel. Taking a shocking turn, Vijay allegedly bit off the front portion of her nose. Neighbors, alerted by her screams, rushed her to a government hospital before she was transferred to a private facility in Shivamogga for specialised treatment. Authorities registered a medico-legal case at the Jayanagar Police Station, later moved to Channagiri Police Station due to jurisdictional boundaries. An FIR has been filed, and police are probing the matter.

Parking Dispute Ends in Mutilation in Uttar Pradesh

In another gruesome act, a car parking disagreement in Kanpur’s upscale Ratan Planet Residential Society ended with a man disfiguring the society secretary. The accused, Kshitij Mishra, reportedly lost his temper during an argument with RS Yadav and physically assaulted him before biting off his nose. Bystander footage showed Mishra calmly walking away while Yadav bled profusely, holding his face in agony.

According to Yadav’s daughter, “My father had tried to resolve the parking issue, but Mishra became aggressive and attacked him.” Initially treated at Regency Hospital, Yadav was later referred to a hospital in Delhi after local doctors were unable to surgically restore the severed part.

Another Case of Biting off Nose

In a third violent episode, police in Hardoi district reported that a man allegedly disfigured his wife after discovering her meeting another man believed to be her lover. The 25-year-old woman had gone to visit a man in the same village when her husband, Ram Khilawan, tracked her down. A verbal confrontation between the couple escalated quickly, ending with the husband allegedly biting off her nose in front of the other man.

Locals rushed to the scene after hearing the woman’s cries and found her bleeding heavily. She was immediately taken to Hardoi Medical College, but due to the extent of her injuries, she was referred to a higher medical center in Lucknow. Additional Superintendent of Police Narendra Kumar stated, “The husband has been detained and is being interrogated. Legal action is underway, and the case is being investigated from all angles.”
