A serious incident occurred in Kanpur involving a Lamborghini owned by Shivam Mishra, son of prominent tobacco magnate KK Mishra. The vehicle struck several pedestrians and a parked motorcycle near Jhula Park crossing on Sunday around 1:45 PM. Eyewitness accounts and initial reports indicate that the Lamborghini first collided with a Bullet motorcycle before hitting a passerby, resulting in significant injuries.

Legal Representation Denies Driving Claims

Mrityunjay Kumar, the legal representative for Shivam Mishra, stated on Monday that his client was not driving the luxury car at the time of the accident. He asserted that the vehicle was operated by Shivam’s personal driver, Mohan. Kumar emphasized that since Shivam was not behind the wheel, there should be no legal case against him, framing the incident as an unfortunate accident.

Details of the Injuries and Damages

According to the First Information Report (FIR), a complainant was seriously injured, suffering extensive damage to his left leg and ankle along with other bodily injuries. In addition to personal injuries, the Bullet motorcycle sustained severe damage. Several pedestrians present at the time also reported injuries resulting from the crash.

Police Investigation Underway

Authorities have seized the Lamborghini as part of their investigation into the incident. A criminal case has been initiated under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, including Sections 281, 125(a), 125(b), and 324(4). Deputy Commissioner of Police for Central Kanpur, Atul Kumar Srivastava, confirmed that no arrests have been made up to this point.

Eyewitness Account of the Incident

Satyendra Singh Chandel, who witnessed the event, described the chaotic scene following the crash. He noted that a group of individuals, reportedly bouncers accompanying the vehicle, broke the car’s window and accelerated the driver’s removal from the car before leaving the scene in a separate vehicle. Chandel remarked that around four to five people suffered injuries during the occurrence.
