A shocking case of double murder incident has come to light from Bundelkhand region. The case is alleged to be of Honour Killing from Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. A 24-year-old man was arrested on Sunday for allegedly murdering his younger sister and her lover. Both the incidents occurred days apart in Jhansi district. The second killing took place on Raksha Bandhan. The day meant to celebrate sibling love turned into one of tragedy and violence.

According to reports the accused was identified as Arvind Ahirwar alias Gulle. Arvind is a resident of Chandanpura village under Garautha police station, and had recently returned from Pune. Police say he was enraged over his 18-year-old sister Kumari Sahodar alias Putti continuing her relationship with Vishal Ahirwar (19), despite previous objections from the family.

Lover Murdered First, Then Sister

On August 7, Arvind and his friend Prakash Prajapati allegedly lured Vishal, on the pretext of a job opportunity in Delhi. Vishal had returned to the village for Raksha Bandhan. Vishal, a resident of Pasrai village in Tehroli police station limits, was then murdered. His body was dumped near a temple in Gudha village under Lahchura police station jurisdiction.

Two days later, on Saturday, Arvind reportedly took his sister out under the guise of buying her medicine. After celebrating Raksha Bandhan together earlier that day, he allegedly strangled her, shaved her head, and dumped her body from a hillock near Dada Maharaj platform in a deserted part of Chandrapura village.

Past Elopement Triggered Family Tensions

Earlier this year, in January, Vishal and Putti had eloped but were tracked down and brought back home by the police within three days. A case had also been lodged against Vishal at the time. While families agreed on a temporary truce, the couple reportedly continued to meet, which reportedly led Arvind to plot the murders.

Police Action and Ongoing Investigation

Meanwhile, separate FIRs have been lodged: Vishal’s father filed a complaint at Lahchura police station, while Arvind’s father reported his daughter’s murder at Garotha police station. SP Rural Arvind Kumar confirmed the arrest of Arvind on Sunday, while Prakash had already been taken into custody.

The shocking double murder has sent ripples through the Bundelkhand region, with police suspecting honour killing as the primary motive. Further investigation is underway.
