Indore is preparing to enhance security measures ahead of the anticipated visits of BJP chief Nitin Nabin and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. Police officials have stated that protocols are being established in compliance with the specific security classifications assigned to these individuals. The presence of high-profile figures has necessitated rigorous planning.

According to Additional DCP Rajesh Dandotiya, the city will experience a series of VIP movements over the upcoming days. He emphasised that security arrangements will be tailored to the designated security categories of those involved. This includes meticulous planning for the forthcoming events, particularly for any VIP movement.

Nitin Nabin’s itinerary includes an arrival at Devi Ahilyabai Holkar International Airport in Indore on September 17 at 1:45 PM, where he will receive a ceremonial welcome from senior party members and supporters. Following this, he is scheduled to attend local programmes before proceeding to the Gandhi Nagar Ground at 2:55 PM for a significant event under the ‘Swamitva Scheme’.

Rahul Gandhi’s Event Scheduled

Further to these developments, Lok Sabha’s Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, will host the ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ event on September 19 in Indore. The police have indicated that they are also taking the necessary precautions to ensure security for this programme. Dandotiya highlighted the importance of ensuring that all necessary arrangements are in place concurrently with the visits of these prominent figures.

Security personnel are currently reviewing protocols that will be enforced during Rahul Gandhi’s event, which is expected to draw significant attention. Dandotiya noted, “For every VIP movement, we will ensure robust security in alignment with the respective protocols.” Additionally, preparations are being coordinated for the city’s reception of dignitaries.

Officials are keenly aware of past instances that could affect the safety of upcoming events, further justifying their enhanced security measures in anticipation of large crowds and potential disruptions.

Investigations into Gelatin Theft Ongoing

In a separate matter, SP (Rural) Rajender Kumar Verma has announced that a 15-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been established to investigate a case involving the theft of 300 kg of gelatin. This investigation has recently gained prominence due to the upcoming VIP visits and the fact that the perpetrators have not yet been apprehended.

Verma explained that, historically, similar stolen items are often discarded, as they are not particularly useful outside their intended purposes. He added that materials of this nature are typically associated with explosive operations, including those used in quarrying activities.

To aid in the investigation, police officials are meticulously analysing CCTV footage from all crucial entry and exit points within the city. According to Verma, they are reviewing data from various sources to track the vehicles involved in the incident and are cross-referencing this with information from locations where analogous thefts have taken place.

A reward has been announced for any information leading to the identification of the suspects involved in the gelatin theft. Law enforcement is committed to ongoing efforts to ensure public safety as the city prepares for the arrival of high-ranking officials.
