The CEO of a company based in Gurugram recently shared a video that showcased his dialogue with a cab driver, in which they touched upon topics such as earnings, self-employment, and the significance of gig workers in the evolving economic landscape of India. He articulated that the vehicle served as the driver’s “shop,” and by working approximately ten hours a day, he could earn between Rs 3,000 and Rs 4,000 on a daily basis to support his family.

The CEO motivated the driver to view his role in a new light, stating, “Do you know what you are? You are an entrepreneur, someone who works for himself and runs his own startup.” This perspective aimed to elevate the driver’s self-image and highlight the significance of the gig economy.
