Traffic patterns at Kisan Chowk, also known as Gaur Chowk, in Greater Noida West are set to be modified from tonight, September 3. This alteration is due to the commencement of construction work related to the underpass in the area. The changes are expected to impact vehicles navigating this junction for approximately two weeks.

The construction involves the laying of Pavement Quality Concrete on segments above the underpass. Affected stretches encompass 25 metres of road on both sides of the junction, leading to potential delays for commuters. Given that Kisan Chowk serves as a critical connection point for several regions within Greater Noida West, drivers have been urged to proceed with caution and adhere to instructions from traffic personnel stationed at the location.

Traffic Management During Construction

According to AK Singh, General Manager of the Greater Noida Authority, the concrete road construction will occur on each side of the underpass, impacting vehicle movement around the area. Authorities anticipate that this work may impose temporary restrictions on traffic flow, thus intensifying congestion at Gaur Chowk.

Traffic police will be present to ensure effective regulation of vehicles and strive to maintain smooth movement as much as possible. Commuters are advised to remain vigilant and adjust their travel plans to accommodate possible delays during this construction period.

Over the two-week duration, traffic arrangements may undergo modifications based on the evolving situation. Authorities have indicated that should congestion increase significantly, alternative traffic measures may be implemented to facilitate the movement of vehicles. This is especially crucial for those travelling through Kisan Chowk and its neighbouring areas.

Ongoing Work on Gaur Chowk Underpass

The traffic diversion coincides with the ongoing construction of the Gaur Chowk underpass, which aims to enhance vehicular movement at this essential junction in Greater Noida West. The current work focuses on the upper section of the underpass, which will create additional temporary disruptions on a route known for heavy traffic.

Motorists using the nearby 130-metre stretch at Char Murti Chowk are also encouraged to exercise caution during this construction phase. The Greater Noida Authority has emphasised the need for proper arrangements by traffic police to mitigate unnecessary congestion and ensure safety during this busy period.

As the construction begins tonight at Kisan Chowk, commuters are reminded to allocate extra travel time, maintain awareness around the construction site, and comply with the directions provided by traffic officials.
