Goa’s Final Electoral Roll Set for Publication on February 21

The CSR Journal Magazine

The Election Commission has announced that the final electoral rolls for Goa, part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, will be released on February 21, 2026, instead of the previously scheduled date of February 14. This update came in a letter addressed to the state’s chief electoral officer, clarifying the new timeline for the electoral roll publication.

Communication to Political Parties

In its communication, the Election Commission instructed the chief electoral officer to notify political parties and other relevant stakeholders about this change. The draft electoral rolls were initially unveiled on December 16 of the previous year, and the upcoming final publication is anticipated with significant interest as it reflects the most updated voter information.

Details on Draft Electorate Numbers

According to the draft electoral rolls, there were approximately 1.185 million electors. Out of this total, around 1.084 million were incorporated into the draft list. Additionally, approximately 101,000 entries were categorized as ASD (absent, shifted, dead, or duplicate), indicating that these individuals were not eligible to vote in the upcoming elections.
