The recent accident in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, resulted in the deaths of four individuals when a bus carrying pilgrims overturned after colliding with a divider. This unfortunate event occurred in the early hours of September 7, 2026, on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, near the Badagaon cut, as reported by local officials.

Baghpat Superintendent of Police Suraj Kumar Rai announced that emergency services were alerted about the incident at approximately 12:30 am via the 112 emergency number. The bus, which was transporting around 32 people from Rajasthan to Badaun, experienced the accident during its journey.

According to police reports, four people lost their lives due to the severity of the incident. The deceased have not yet been publicly identified, and efforts are currently in progress to inform their family members about the tragic event.

In response to the accident, four Police Response Vehicle (PRV) units, ambulances, and local police personnel promptly arrived at the scene to conduct rescue operations. Several individuals sustained serious injuries, with some requiring advanced medical care at higher medical centres. The authorities confirmed that all injured passengers were successfully rescued and provided with necessary medical attention.

Baghpat District Magistrate Asmita Lal confirmed the tragic toll of the accident, indicating that all victims had received medical assistance. She remarked on the gravity of the situation, noting that the bus struck a divider, subsequently overturning and leading to fatalities and serious injuries among the passengers.
