Maa Kali and Gorkha Regiments

The Gorkha Regiments of the Indian Army comrpising Nepali and Indian Gorkha soldiers are known for their combat prowess and bravery. Gorkha soldiers pray to Goddess Kali before a battle. It is believed that during the 1971 war with Pakistan, some Pakistani soldiers surrendered during a surprise Gorkha attack after they saw mysterious black shadows with swords!

 

Lord Krishna and Mathura-based regiments

Many soldiers of the Mathura-based regiment of the Indian Army wear Lord Krishna pendants. A miraculous story goes like this that once a shell missed an entire unit shortly after they finished chanting the Hare Krishna mantra!
