A video that recently surfaced online shows a group of Zepto delivery agents confronting a customer, sparking intense discussions across social media. According to the footage, the incident began after a rider claimed that his colleague was allegedly assaulted during a routine delivery.

Delivery Agents Arrive Together

The video shows nearly a dozen riders, all in Zepto uniforms, traveling on their bikes to the customer’s residence. One of them explains while recording, “Guys, this is my colleague, and he was assaulted by a store owner while he was on his way to a delivery. We are going to reach the bungalow, and we will see what happens next.”

Another worker adds, “That’s why we are going to his house.”

Upon reaching the location, the riders can be seen questioning a man who appears to be the store owner. The group demands clarity on the alleged assault while recording the interaction. When asked about filming, a rider tells the camera,
“This is all for proof. What am I doing wrong if I am recording this incident?”

Customer Gives His Side

The man at the scene says that the situation was a misunderstanding. He claims that the delivery agent acted as if he could not locate the address, even though it was visible, which led to frustration. He also expressed discomfort being recorded and refused to speak further while the camera was on.

He added that the delivery worker’s repeated honking outside his store had annoyed him, “Dukaan ke samne khade rehkar pee, pee, pee karega toh kya karega aadmi…”

Conflicting Reactions Online

The clip, shared by the X handle ‘Ghar Ke Kalesh,’ quickly went viral, dividing opinions. Some users expressed support for the riders, highlighting the hard work delivery agents do, “Delivery boys should be respected; they work really hard,” one wrote. Others echoed, “Assault karoge toh reaction toh aayega.”

However, many criticised the approach of confronting the customer in a group, calling it an overreaction. Comments included, “Taking law and order into your own hand is not advisable,” and, “Instead of taking the legal route, what is this gundagardi from your delivery associates, is it the way your company works.”

One user emphasised that the situation could have escalated dangerously, “What happened at the time of delivery is only known to the customer and the delivery person. But taking a group to the customer’s home is absolutely wrong, and the customer should file an FIR.”

Others focused on the need for company intervention, “It’s heartbreaking to see a delivery rider’s hard work met with senseless abuse. Solidarity among workers is a human response when systems fail them. Zepto must step up with real protections like on-call security and swift blacklisting.”
