Bollywood movie Dhurandhar after five-week successful running sees a major dip in box office, after the release of Prabhas starrer ‘The Raja Saab’ on Friday. After a successful run of 35 days, Dhurandhar has now been replaced by the Telugu actor Prabhas starrer ‘The Raja Saab’.
The Raja Saab is a horror comedy, and this is the first time that actor Prabhas is seen in this genre. By 7 PM on Friday, it earned Rs 23.34 crore net in India across all languages. If we compare with Dhurandhar, the Aditya Dhar film made Rs 4.25 crore net on Thursday. So, going to be the opening collection, it is expected that The Raja Saab can be the new number 1 film.

The multi-language film ‘The Raja Saab’ has been released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. If the trade experts believe it, the movie would possibly make Rs 60 crore in the domestic market on the first day. Initially Prabhas’ movie screening was limited, but after Vijay’s Jana Nayagan got postponed, it got an additional 250 screens across Tamil Nadu. Due to the lack of a big Tamil release today, it is expected The Raja Saab earning can be even more than expected. On Friday Master Vijay’s movie Jana Nayagan got the pending CBFC certification, however the date of release is yet to be announced, but it is expected to hit theatres during Pongal to get festive mileage.
Maruthi directorial ‘The Raja Saab’ stars Sanjay Dutt, Malavika Mohanan, Riddhi Kumar, Boman Irani, and Zarina Wahab is produced with a reported budget of Rs 400 crore, this movie is said to be the costliest horror-comedy in Indian cinema. In the international market the movie has so far made USD 2 million from advance bookings alone and USD 1.77 million from opening day.
