Stock brokerage firm Zerodha has partnered with NGO Habitat for Humanity India to provide 1823 families with humanitarian aid through the provision of Family Essential kits and Hygiene kits amid the second wave of COVID-19.
The Hygiene Kit consists of masks, oximeter, digital thermometer, hand sanitizer, sanitary napkins, soaps, liquid hand-wash and IEC (information, education, communication) material with guidelines of precaution to be taken during the second wave. The family essential kit provides essential supplies for families and also includes all items provided under a hygiene kit.

Zerodha has donated Rs. 20 lakhs towards the cause and aims to raise Rs. 50 lakhs through crowdfunding. This immediate aid will support 1823 families across India.

In 2020, Zerodha partnered with Habitat for Humanity India and supported 5,565 families – consisting of daily wage earners – through the provision of Hygiene and Family Essential Kits.
“The second wave of COVID-19 is proving to be deadlier than the first wave. It is our duty to support the marginalized communities who are extremely vulnerable in a pandemic such as this. We are grateful to Zerodha for partnering with Habitat. Last year thanks to their support we served 5,565 families across India. We hope to make a difference in people’s lives this year as well,” stated Rajan Samuel, Managing Director, Habitat for Humanity India.
We are witnessing an unprecedented catastrophe. In this time of crisis, we must stand together — the country is in one of the most disturbing and challenging phases in the recent past. No amount of help would be enough, especially when we know the amount of damage this pandemic has caused around us. We are trying to do our bit to help save lives and livelihoods affected by this crisis. We hope to do as much as possible to help vulnerable people who need assistance to fight this pandemic,” said Nithin Kamath, Founder & CEO, Zerodha.
