Cricket has grown into a folly over the years for Indians. Companies too are willing to sponsor and participate in them. The sport receives a large chunk of the limelight along with cricketers earning about 2 crore rupees annually. This is in the games. With the lime light they receive, they easily make way more than that in endorsements. However, the hockey players in India make somewhere around 15 lakh rupees per annum.

With cricket receiving maximum investment amongst all the sports in the country, it is one of the most played and appreciated sport. This inturn has encouraged many people to take it up as their profession.

Disabled Sporting Society recently associated itself with Big Brother Foundation, a Sachiin Joshi initiative (CSR arm of Viiking Ventures), for the Physically Disabled Indian Cricket Team who are heading to Singapore for a 3-Day tournament from 25th May to 27th May, 2018 to participate in the prestigious Alan Border Cup for the Physically Disabled.

Sachiin Joshi, Big Brother Foundation said, “Cricket continues to be one of the most popular sports in our country and we are proud to be associated with The Indian National Disabled Cricket Team. We wish the team all the success on this important tour of Singapore. We have complete faith in this team and are confident that they will put up a great show in the Alan Border Cup.”

The arena of sports is an ever growing and changing one in our country. It is an important component in socio-economic development of any country. It not only promotes productivity and fitness in the community but also helps in generating good leaders, reduces medical expenses, imbibes discipline and enhances social cohesion.
