A case of mass suicide has come to light in Jaipur and Sikar districts of Rajasthan, five people from one family found dead on Saturday. Five members include mother, and her four children—3 sons and daughter, died by consuming poison. Information of the incident was given by neighbours when they found the flat locked for days and the family wasn’t responding.

Poisonous substance was recovered from scene
This family was a resident of Anirudh Residency on Palwas Road in Sikar. It is alleged that the woman and her children died by consuming poison, and the woman took the extreme step after a dispute with her husband. A packet of poisonous substance was recovered from the scene by the police.
Sikar Sadar police station SHO Indraj Marodia shared details of the incident with media, he said, “Decomposed bodies of 35-year-old Kiran (mother), 3 sons (18-year-old Sumit), (4-year-old Ayush) and (3-year-old Avnish), and 13-year-old daughter Sneha were found in the flat. It is suspected that all five people consumed poison and died by suicide, almost 2–3 days back.”
Sharing details of how they were informed, he said, “We received a complaint from a resident of Anirudh Residency regarding a flat being locked for many days and a pungent smell coming from inside. Upon this complaint when checked, these five bodies were recovered.”
Adding to these details, Sikar Deputy SP Suresh Sharma said, “On receiving complaint we had to break open the door and found these dead bodies, currently the forensic team is collecting samples; and enquiry is underway.”
