West Bengal government decided to build a modern driving training school. According to state Transport department, within this year, state government will start this school near Behala flying club. To curb road accident, state government decided to train drivers on its own.
A senior official of transport department said, “In different survey report showed that, more than 80% road accident happened due to improper training of drivers. There are plenty of driving training schools across the state but many of those are not appropriate.”
He further added, “To overcome such problem, state government decided to build a motor training school on its own.”
To curb road accident already state government started “Safe Drive Save Life” project. Through this project state government identified “black spot” or accident prone areas and accordingly transport department took steps in those areas. Expert and well trained drivers will help further increase this situation, saying transport officials.
School will have hostel facilities
According to sources, experimentally this school will start from Kolkata and if it became popular then, this concept will be spread in district as well. However, now this modern motor training school will be formed with huge campus. There will be hostel facilities. So that, students from districts also can be come over here and can take training staying inside the school.
In this modern training school, students will not only be trained driving but also will be trained on how to save fuel during driving, how a driver can handle the emergency situation, how a driver should react in different situations.
The transport official said, “Those who are higher secondary pass will be allowed to take admission in this school and after proper modern theoretical and practical training, the student will be ready as modern driver and compete in any market.”
