The CSR Journal Magazine

On March 31, Uttarakhand’s Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the Maa Bal Sundari Temple in Kashipur to offer his prayers, aiming for the overall development, peace, and prosperity of the state. During the visit, he inaugurated the Bhajan Sandhya programme by lighting a ceremonial lamp, marking a significant occasion for the local community. CM Dhami expressed his hopes for the happiness and prosperity of all devotees attending the Chaiti Mela, a vibrant celebration underscoring the region’s cultural heritage.

The Chief Minister announced that funds from the Chaiti Mela corpus would be allocated for enhancing the appearance of the Maa Bal Sundari Temple and its surrounding areas. He encouraged participation in the festival, emphasizing its importance as a cultural celebration, complete with stalls showcasing traditional products and performances by local artists. His remarks suggested that the event would not only celebrate faith but also serve to bolster trade and tourism, thereby creating employment opportunities in the region.

Ongoing Infrastructure Projects Under Government Initiative

CM Dhami highlighted the rapid progress of various infrastructure projects aimed at the holistic development of Kashipur. Notably, a 133-acre Electronic Manufacturing Cluster Park is under development, with 16 industrial units already allocated, poised to create significant job opportunities for the local youth. Furthermore, over ₹494 crore has been designated for the upgrade of the Kashipur-Ramnagar highway into a four-lane road, which includes the construction of a mini-bypass stretching three kilometers. Other improvements include an Assistant Regional Transport Office and the establishment of automated driving test tracks in Kashipur, Haridwar, and Rishikesh, costing ₹4 crore and ₹7 crore respectively.

Investment Aimed at Employment and Local Economy

The Chief Minister reported major infrastructure investments totalling approximately ₹1,950 crore, covering areas like drinking water supply, sewerage systems, road enhancements, and sewage treatment plants, all seeing quick advancements in Kashipur. Projects like a ₹1,100 crore industrial hub and a ₹100 crore aroma park are also underway, with a focus on enhancing employment and supporting the local economy. A multi-level parking facility and a new tehsil office are additionally in the pipeline.

Strategic Plans for Cultural and Spiritual Development

CM Dhami emphasized the government’s commitment to linking the Chaiti Temple with the Manaskhand Corridor, aiming to make Kashipur a significant cultural and spiritual destination. He reiterated the dual focus on making Kashipur an industrial city as well as a center of faith and devotion, while ensuring the preservation of Uttarakhand’s cultural identity and social harmony amidst ongoing development efforts.

Firm Stance on Social Policy and Governance

The Chief Minister mentioned the implementation of stringent anti-conversion and anti-riot laws in the state, and the launch of “Operation Kaalnemi,” which aims to protect the reputation of Sanatan Dharma. Uttarakhand is noted for being the first state to introduce the Uniform Civil Code. Dhami further declared that his administration has enforced one of the toughest anti-cheating laws in India to ensure youth can secure their futures. This has led to over 32,000 youths obtaining government jobs in the past four and a half years, a notable increase compared to previous administrations. The “double-engine government” approach also addresses traffic issues in Kashipur through the construction of overbridges and road widening initiatives, aimed at creating a secure environment for industrial growth.
