Coronavirus or the Wuhan virus has struck the whole world and is affecting celebrities as well as normal people. The news of Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson testing positive for Coronavirus created a stir and people finally realized that no one is safe from the virus. The fact that there is no known cure or a vaccine which can stop the spread of this virus which originated in Wuhan, China is a nightmare for health professionals and governments worldwide. Even athletic superstars like Kevin Durant, Rudy Godbert, Mikel Arteta and Callum Hudson-Odoi have not been spared from the impact of this dreaded Coronavirus.
Celebrities are known to run awareness campaigns for issues that impact the ordinary people but this is one such tragedy which affects them equally. Amidst the controversial speculation of Coronavirus being a man-made disaster, 3 celebrities have stood out in taking this epidemic head-on by creating awareness to contain the spread of this virus.

Amitabh Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan is a superstar in India and he is known to take a stand on issues and help the government in spreading awareness by using his stardom. The Health Ministry of India requested the evergreen actor to star in a coronavirus advisory and as always the actor known as Senior Bachchan participated in the initiative to tackle this pandemic.
Amitabh Bachchan is also a #UNICEF India Goodwill ambassador and is participating in multiple campaigns to reach more and more people to create awareness about the Wuhan Virus in India.

Deepika Padukone

The actress recently drew the ire of people when she took a stand on a contentious issue before Delhi riots which were seen as trying to attract publicity before the release of her new movie but her efforts in creating awareness around Coronavirus should not be discounted.

The Bollywood star was nominated by Director-General of the World Health Organization, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, in the #SafeHands challenge and she sportingly participated and nominated other celebrities to expand the chain and create more and more awareness about how to fight the spread of Coronavirus.

Sachin Tendulkar, a nominated member of the Upper House of Parliament in India known as Rajya Sabha, is also known to use his huge social media following in creating awareness about various social issues. When it comes to #COVID19, he was one of the first celebrities in India to start an awareness drive around Coronavirus in India. He participated in the #SafeHandsChallenge to spread the message to his millions of followers across every nook and corner of India.

Akshay Kumar

The actor known for making films with strong social messages has yet again stepped up at the time of crises in the country. The actor has pledged to donate 25 crores to PMCares Fund to help the authorities fight against COVID-19.
In addition to this, he is hosting the show Sangeet Setu – an initiative by ISRA to raise money for the PMCares Fund and encourage people to practice social distancing. Sangeet Setu is a series of virtual concerts by Indian artists to support PMCares Fund against CoronaVirus.

Hritik Roshan

The Krishh Actor has collaborated with the Akshaya Patra Foundation and facilitated the provision of 1.2 lakh nutritious cooked meals to old age homes, daily wage labourers & low-income groups across India.
