Tesla Unveils Model Y Premium Pop-Up Experience in Punjab

The CSR Journal Magazine

Tesla has premiered its first pop-up experience in Punjab, featuring the Model Y Premium. This event is being conducted at Pavilion Mall in Ludhiana from March 6 to March 12, 2026. It offers customers in the region their initial chance to engage with the brand in person and participate in test drives of the electric vehicle. The pop-up will include a Model Y Premium on display, alongside guided walkarounds and comprehensive product demonstrations. Attendees will have the opportunity to test drive the electric SUV in a designated parking area, enabling an immersive experience with Tesla’s offerings.

Focus on Electric Mobility Awareness

The initiative aims to provide a tangible introduction to electric mobility and assist prospective buyers in gaining a better understanding of electric vehicle (EV) technology and ownership. Test drives can be scheduled through Tesla India’s official website and will be available daily between 11 AM and 8 PM. The Model Y Premium has earned international acclaim as the world’s best-selling vehicle for three consecutive years: 2023, 2024, and 2025. Furthermore, it has received top safety ratings from various global testing organizations, including the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), Euro NCAP, ANCAP, and China’s C-IASA. Tesla notes that these ratings highlight the model’s commitment to safety, performance, efficiency, and cutting-edge technology.

Charging Efficiency and Cost-Effectiveness

Regarding charging infrastructure, the Model Y Premium is compatible with Tesla’s Supercharging network, allowing users to add up to 267 kilometers of range in just 15 minutes. This service emphasizes Tesla’s “Plug In, Charge and Go” strategy, which aims to streamline long-distance travel and enhance the practicality of electric mobility for daily use. The company is also promoting the financial benefits of EV ownership. In India, the Model Y includes a complimentary wall connector for home charging, which can potentially lower charging expenses to as little as 1 rupee per kilometer. Tesla estimates that consumers transitioning from petrol or diesel vehicles could save up to 20,000 rupees per month due to reduced fuel and maintenance costs.

Model Y Premium Pricing and Financing Options

The starting price for the Model Y Premium in India is set at 59.89 lakh rupees (ex-showroom) for the Rear-Wheel Drive version, while the Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive variant is priced at 67.89 lakh rupees (ex-showroom). Both versions reach a top speed of 201 km/h and have WLTP-certified ranges of 500 km and 661 km, respectively. Furthermore, the standard Rear-Wheel Drive variant accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, while the Long Range version completes the sprint in 5.6 seconds. To promote the adoption of electric vehicles, Tesla is offering an exchange incentive of 3 lakh rupees for customers switching from petrol or diesel models. Financing plans are available, with monthly payments starting from 49,000 rupees with a down payment of 6 lakh rupees, based on financier approval.

Broader Efforts to Expand Tesla’s Presence in India

The Ludhiana pop-up is part of Tesla’s wider strategy to broaden its presence in India and hasten the transition towards sustainable energy. The initiative aims to enhance accessibility and awareness regarding electric vehicles and charging options among potential customers. Tesla currently operates experience centers in Gurugram, Mumbai, and Delhi, and consumers can also order the Model Y online through the company’s official website.
