आग लगने से हड़कंप, EVM की सुरक्षा पर उठे सवाल

4000 मशीनें जलीं

आग की चपेट में आईं ये लगभग 4,000 EVM हाल ही में संपन्न हुए विधानसभा चुनावों के दौरान राज्य के 10 निर्वाचन क्षेत्रों (Assembly Constituencies) में इस्तेमाल की गई थीं। ये सभी मशीनें इमारत की 8वीं और 9वीं मंजिल पर रखी हुई थीं, जो पूरी तरह जल गईं। इसके अलावा मिड-डे मील योजना से जुड़े दफ्तर और कुछ अन्य सरकारी विभागों के दस्तावेज भी जल गए हैं। बुधवार सुबह करीब 9:50 बजे लगी इस आग को काबू में करने के लिए दमकल की 10 गाड़ियों को लगाया गया था। भीषण आग को पूरी तरह शांत करने में लंबा समय लगा।

साजिश की आशंका- रहस्यमयी तरीके से फैली आग

अग्निशमन मंत्री कौशिश चौधरी के मुताबिक, आग की शुरुआत शुरुआती तौर पर तीसरी या चौथी मंजिल से हुई थी। हैरानी की बात यह है कि बीच की 5वीं, 6ठी और 7वीं मंजिल सुरक्षित रहीं, लेकिन आग सीधे 8वीं और 9वीं मंजिल तक पहुंच गई, जहां EVM रखी थीं। इसी वजह से इसे सामान्य आग न मानकर साजिश का शक जताया जा रहा है। फॉरेंसिक विशेषज्ञों की टीम ने घटनास्थल का दौरा कर साक्ष्य और सैंपल जुटाए हैं। मामले की गंभीरता को देखते हुए जांच के लिए एसआईटी (SIT) का भी गठन किया गया है।

मंत्री बोले- आग लगने का तरीका संदेहास्पद

पश्चिम बंगाल के मंत्री कौशिक चौधरी ने कहा कि यह अग्निकांड सामान्य नहीं लगता। उनका कहना था कि आग पहले दूसरी और तीसरी मंजिल पर दिखाई दी और फिर ऊपर की मंजिलों तक पहुंच गई। चौधरी ने यह सवाल उठाया कि आग चौथी, पांचवीं और छठी मंजिल को नुकसान पहुँचाए बिना कैसे इतनी ऊंचाई तक पहुँच गई। वे फॉरेंसिक रिपोर्ट का इंतजार कर रहे हैं ताकि यह स्पष्ट हो सके कि यह एक औसत आग थी या किसी साजिश का हिस्सा।

कांग्रेस और AAP ने सरकार से मांगा जवाब

कांग्रेस पार्टी ने मांग की है कि सरकार और चुनाव आयोग यह स्पष्ट करें कि आग कैसे लगी। पार्टी का कहना है कि मामले की गंभीरता को देखते हुए उचित जांच की जानी चाहिए। आम आदमी पार्टी ने भी प्रश्न उठाए हैं कि सरकारी बिल्डिंग में इतनी बड़ी आग कैसे लग सकती है और हजारों EVM इसकी चपेट में कैसे आ गईं।

FIR दर्ज, फॉरेंसिक जांच की प्रक्रिया शुरू

दक्षिण 24 परगना प्रशासन की शिकायत के आधार पर अलीपुर थाने में FIR दर्ज की गई है। पुलिस अब इस घटना के पीछे के कारणों की खोज कर रही है। आग लगने का कारण शॉर्ट सर्किट था या फिर कोई और कारण, यह अभी स्पष्ट नहीं है। फॉरेंसिक टीम ने मौके से नमूने भी एकत्र किये हैं ताकि यह पता चल सके कि आग एक हादसा था या जानबूझकर लगाई गई थी। इस पर भी जांच टीम काम कर रही है।

मामला अब चौकसी का विषय

Pal asserted that significant cash was found when accountant Abhik Kumar Nag was requested to open a vault in the presence of officials, despite the school reportedly operating at a loss.

Following this complaint, the police formally registered a case, which triggered a thorough investigation. During their inquiries, officers seized not only cash but also documents, computers, and other relevant materials from the school’s premises. As part of the investigation, police have detained the accountant and a junior accountant for further questioning.

Principal Responds to Findings

In light of the discoveries, the acting principal sought to distance himself from the financial discrepancies, claiming he had no prior knowledge regarding the significant cash amount that had allegedly not been banked. Pal noted that the cash collection from students began after the academic session commenced in April and that the accountant was responsible for depositing these amounts every few days.

“I am accountable for academic matters,” he stated, “and I had no awareness that the cash was not deposited. This situation is unbelievable.” Regarding the unexpected findings of the semi-furnished room and condoms, Pal expressed shock, stating, “It is accurate that inappropriate items have been recovered, but I lack detailed knowledge. I am unsure how such items ended up in a room designated to serve as a student sick room.”

Pal’s comments come amid growing scrutiny from both the public and political figures, reflecting the broader implications of this investigation.

Political Reactions and Demands for Accountability

As developments unfolded, the political landscape surrounding this incident intensified. BJP MLA Sudipta Das visited Harnett English Medium School, demanding an exhaustive investigation into the allegations. Das expressed his disbelief that an educational establishment could devolve into such a disreputable situation.

“These revelations are mentally distressing. I cannot fathom how an educational institution has descended into this level of misconduct,” Das remarked. He went on to criticise the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC), alleging the recovered cash could not merely be attributed to school funds. He called for a comprehensive investigation into its origins.

“This situation has brought shame to the community. It is unacceptable that crores of rupees have been found in this context, along with a setup resembling a bedroom within a school,” he added, underscoring the seriousness of the findings. The case continues to attract widespread attention as local authorities and the police work to uncover the details surrounding the financial dealings of the school.
