Solana and Eloquent Register Notable Wins at Hyderabad Races

Impressive Performances on Winter Season’s Eighth Day

Solana and Eloquent emerged as the standout performers at the eighth day of the Hyderabad Winter Races held on Monday. Both horses secured victories in their respective events, drawing attention to their form and readiness during this stage of the racing calendar.

Solana Dominates Vikarabad Cup

Solana produced a commanding performance to clinch the Vikarabad Cup, the main event of the day. Ridden by jockey Suraj Narredu and trained by Laxman Singh, the horse showcased strong pace and control over the 1,400-metre distance.

Starting off from the gates with confidence, Solana maintained a steady rhythm throughout the race before quickening in the final stages. The win was marked by composure and finishing strength, highlighting the horse’s consistent training and form.

Eloquent Delivers Confident Finish

In another key race of the day, Eloquent, under the guidance of trainer K. Sathyanarayana and jockey Akshay Kumar, impressed with a steady and well-timed run. Displaying good temperament and race awareness, the horse managed to hold off competition in the closing stages.

Eloquent’s performance added to the growing list of promising showings by horses under Sathyanarayana’s care this season. The victory gave the connections further reason to look forward to the upcoming races with confidence.

Other Race Highlights

The day also featured several other competitive events, offering varied results across categories. Eyes Wide Open, ridden by P. Sai Kumar, recorded a smooth win in the lower division of the Vikarabad Plate. Trained by L.D. Silvester, the horse showed significant improvement over previous outings.

In the higher division of the same category, City Cruise, trained by K.S.V. Prasad Raju and ridden by apprentice jockey Mohit Singh, crossed the line first with a determined effort. The combination of sound tactics and a strong finish played a key role in the result.

Another noteworthy performer was Lightning Bolt, who secured victory in the Sir Bruce Plate. Under the guidance of trainer S. Kiran Kumar and ridden by Afroz Khan, the horse maintained a steady gallop and responded well in the stretch run to secure the result.

Strong Day for Leading Jockeys

Jockey Akshay Kumar continued to assert his dominance at the Hyderabad track with consistent performances across multiple rides. His coordination with trainer K. Sathyanarayana, particularly in guiding Eloquent to victory, stood out among the day’s achievements.

With stable weather and a well-maintained turf, the day’s races were carried out smoothly, allowing both trainers and jockeys to optimise performance. Attendance at the racecourse remained steady, with enthusiasts witnessing a series of well-contested runs across the card.

The Hyderabad Winter Races continue to provide a competitive platform for emerging talents and seasoned participants alike. The next scheduled race day is expected to feature another strong lineup, as the season progresses with growing anticipation.
