Located at Bhupani Lalpur Road, Faridabad, Satyug Darshan Vidyalaya has announced a provision of free education to the children who have been orphaned due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The school has announced this social initiative under its project “Ummeed Ek Asha Ki Kiran” in the interest of public welfare and on humanitarian grounds, thus earning itself some accolades.
Under the project ‘Ummeed Ek Asha Ki Kiran’, Satyug Darshan Vidyalaya will provide free boarding or day-boarding education to those meritorious children who either lost their parents/guardians to COVID-19 or were on the receiving end of negatively impacted family income due to the pandemic.
The principal of Satyug Darshan Vidyalaya, Mr Neeraj Mohan Puri, while conversing on the topic, shared that the school will be taking full responsibility for the free education of 12 helpless children between the ages of 6-14 years & hailing from various sections of society. The school will not only verify the eligibility of the students but will also conduct an exam to ensure a fair process.
Principal Puri further revealed that the selection of the students will be carried out on the basis of 3 criteria:
1. Students who secure ranks from 1 to 12 in this exam will qualify for the selection.
2. Students who wish to be a part of the initiative must have a good academic track record in the previous 2 years
3. The cause of the students’ weakened economic background must be nothing other than COVID-19
12 students who satisfy all the above-listed requirements will be considered qualified for the project and will be provided free education by the school. The final decision in this regard rests with the managing committee of the school.
