Sambhal Set for Big Makeover: Yogi Adityanath Prioritizes Temples, Rivers, and Modern Infrastructure

The CSR Journal Magazine

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed ongoing development projects and law-and-order matters in Sambhal on Sunday. He directed officials to implement a phased approach to the district’s development. He emphasized that Sambhal’s progress is a top government priority and stressed swift execution of key projects.

In the first phase, the CM instructed officials to restore the district’s ancient pilgrimage sites and traditional wells. Sambhal houses 68 pilgrimage sites and 19 historic wells, which the administration is working to identify and rejuvenate. The second phase will focus on establishing museums, light-and-sound attractions, and other cultural facilities to boost tourism.

Infrastructure and Departmental Upgrades

The CM reviewed the construction of critical infrastructure, including the District Court, jail, and PAC unit, urging officials to fast-track land acquisition and project execution. He also directed that all departmental offices be consolidated into integrated complexes. Officials reported that 93% of the land needed for residential and non-residential buildings has already been acquired, with the remaining work to be expedited through prepared DPRs.

Focus on Pilgrimage and Water Bodies

Highlighting the importance of spiritual tourism, the CM instructed expansion of public amenities, road networks, and facilities along the 24 Kosi Parikrama route. Restoration works for the Mahishmati River were also reviewed, with the CM stressing that rivers are lifelines and must be conserved under the Namami Gange programme.

Urban and Industrial Projects

CM Adityanath evaluated ongoing projects under schemes such as Vandan Yojana, Chief Minister Vaishwik Nagarodaya Yojana, Funeral Site Development Scheme, Urban Water Development, Lake/Pokhar/Talaab schemes, and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Urban Development Scheme, directing officials to ensure speedy completion. The construction of the new CBG plant was also highlighted for quick progress.

With this phased, multi-pronged strategy, the government aims to combine cultural restoration, infrastructure modernization, and urban development to transform Sambhal into a model district.
