The sacred ritual of the second ‘Pran Pratishtha’ at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya is set to commence on Tuesday. This will mark another historic chapter in the temple’s spiritual journey. As part of this grand event, the consecration of deities will be performed in six temples.

These are situated on the temple’s ramparts. Along with this a formal installation of the Ram Darbar on the first floor of the temple will also be carried out.

Grand Kalash Yatra

The ceremonies will culminate on the auspicious occasion of Ganga Dussehra on June 5. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has made comprehensive arrangements for the grand event. The event will witness the participation of several VVIPs, including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Meanwhile, the rituals commenced on Monday evening with a grand Kalash Yatra from the banks of the Saryu River. The yatra passed through Veena Chowk, Rampath, Singarhat, and Rangmahal Barrier before reaching the temple premises. On June 3 and 4, a 12-hour-long puja will be performed daily from 6:30 AM. The prayers will feature the chanting of 1,975 mantras and sacred offerings to the fire god.

Devotional recitations, including the Ram Raksha Stotra, Hanuman Chalisa, and other bhajans, will also be held. The main event on June 5 will include the Pran Pratishtha of Shri Ram, Sita, Lakshman, and Hanuman. Along with this the consecration of idols in six other temples will also take place.

Invitations extended

Trust General Secretary Shri Champat Rai shared that invitations have been extended to saints and devotees. Also to the ones who were unable to attend the Pran Pratishtha held earlier on January 22, 2024.

Arrangements made for devotees

To ensure the convenience of the devotees, Ayodhya District Magistrate Nikhil Tikaram Funde confirmed that extensive arrangements have been made. These arrangements include shaded rest areas, drinking water stations, and mobile toilets.

Special measures have also been taken in light of the prevailing heat. 10 hospital beds have been kept reserved in each district hospital for emergencies. ORS packets are being distributed at the temple premises, outposts, and police stations. Furthermore, resting areas and other amenities have also been made available within the temple premises for pilgrims.

Security deployment

Senior Superintendent of Police Gaurav Grover stated that multiple joint inspections have been conducted with the District Magistrate. Security has been intensified with the deployment of ATS and STF teams to ensure a smooth and secure event. “Security for both VVIPs and devotees remains our top priority,” he added.

The first Pran Pratishtha

Earlier this year, on January 11, 2025, a three-day celebration marked the first anniversary of Pran Pratishtha. The grand ceremony drew lakhs of devotees from across the country. A similarly large turnout is anticipated for this event. A festive spirit envelops Ayodhya, with Ram devotees displaying great enthusiasm ahead of this grand celebration.
