After Pune Porsche Case, Chandigarh Porsche Crash Kills 1, Injures 2

Another Pune Porsche like crash has occurred in Chandigarh. A high-speed Porsche crash left one man dead and two women injured. The luxury car collided with two Activa scooters near a petrol pump in Chandigarh’s Sector 4. The tragic accident took place on Monday evening. The police confirmed that the Porsche was being driven recklessly at an “excessive speed” before it hit the two-wheeler riders.
The police further informed that the vehicle came from the opposite direction and first struck a scooter carrying two women. The car then crashed into another Activa which was driven by a man.
However, the crash was so severe that the man’s leg was severed, and he succumbed to his injuries on the spot. The other two women, identified as Soni and Gurleen, sustained serious leg injuries and were rushed to Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) Hospital for treatment.

Porsche Dragged the Scooter

Meanwhile, the Eyewitnesses described the horrifying moment when the Activa got stuck to the Porsche’s front engine and was dragged for a considerable distance. The luxury car then lost control, hitting an electric pole, a traffic sign board, and finally a tree before coming to a halt. According to the locals one of the scooters was completely destroyed, while the front of the Porsche was also severely damaged.

Accused Arrested

Following the incident, the Police arrived at the scene shortly and arrested the Porsche driver. However, the identity of the driver has not yet been disclosed. The vehicle has been impounded. Which means, the vehicle is taken to the nearest police station for further investigation. The owner has to produce the necessary documents and pay the fines to get the vehicle released.

Investigation Ongoing

Furthermore, a case has been registered under relevant sections of the newly implemented Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) related to reckless driving and negligence. Preliminary investigations revealed that the luxury car is registered to a resident of Sector 21, Chandigarh. The authorities are now probing the circumstances of the crash, including possible overspeeding. The Chandigarh police have assured a thorough investigation into the matter..

The Pune Porsche Case

The Chandigarh accident has reignited discussions around luxury cars and reckless driving. The recent incident has drawn comparisons to the highly controversial Pune Porsche case. On May 19, 2024, 17-year-old Vedant Agarwal killed two IT professionals, Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta, after crashing his high-speed Porsche Taycan while intoxicated in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar area.
