Daniel, a passenger on Flydubai flight FZ1073, stated that his thoughts turned to the 9/11 attacks when chaos erupted inside the cockpit. The flight, which was carrying over 180 Israeli passengers from Dubai to Tel Aviv, experienced a severe dive and spin after a fight broke out among the cockpit crew. Daniel recounts hearing sounds resembling a struggle near the cockpit area just before the aircraft lost control.

According to Daniel, he noticed that the cockpit door was ajar and witnessed what seemed to be an attempt to force a person out of the cockpit. Several Israeli passengers seated nearby then moved toward the cockpit to understand the situation better. Shortly thereafter, the plane unexpectedly plunged sharply, causing panic among those onboard.

He described the moment when he realised the gravity of the incident, stating, “From what I understood, a co-pilot stabbed the captain, and once they subdued the attacker, there were two other pilots on the plane and they took control.”

Reports indicate that these pilots played a crucial role in regaining control of the aircraft amidst the unfolding chaos. Reports from Israeli media outlets have confirmed that additional trained pilots in civilian attire assisted in preventing the rogue pilot from taking full control of the aircraft. Daniel described the terrifying descent, suggesting that it lasted for what felt like an eternity. “The spinning stopped. It took some… I don’t know, it felt like an eternity, but I think it was two minutes, at least two or three minutes, during which the plane was simply diving and spinning like crazy,” he recalled, expressing disbelief at the events as they unfolded.

Despite the eventual resolution, Daniel initially believed that the aircraft was under threat, attributing his fears to the intense sounds of struggle, screams, and visible blood on the floor. “I definitely thought it was a terrorist attack,” he expressed, emphasising the urgency of the crisis.
