OnePlus Nord 6 Launches Tomorrow with New Features and Prices

The CSR Journal Magazine

The OnePlus Nord 6 is set to be launched in India on February 2, 2025, amid ongoing speculation regarding the company’s future. This new smartphone serves as the successor to the OnePlus Nord 5, released in July 2024. The latest model boasts a redesigned rear camera module and shares a design similarity with the recently unveiled OnePlus 15.

One of the key upgrades in the Nord 6 is its chipset, which is expected to enhance overall performance significantly compared to its predecessor. While the rear camera specifications are likely to remain unchanged, the front camera may see a reduction in capability, shifting from the 50-megapixel setup of the Nord 5.

Pricing and Availability in India

According to industry insider, the OnePlus Nord 6 is anticipated to carry a price tag exceeding Rs 35,000 in India. This represents a marked increase over previous models in the Nord series. The notable rise in pricing is reportedly influenced by the global increase in RAM costs, reflecting a broader industry trend where new smartphone launches come at higher price points.

For context, the OnePlus Nord 5 originally launched at Rs 31,999, while earlier models like the Nord 3 and Nord 4 debuted at Rs 33,999 and Rs 29,999, respectively. The sale of the OnePlus Nord 6 is set to commence on February 9, 2025, with availability on the official OnePlus website, Amazon, OnePlus Experience stores, and selected retail locations.

Consumers can expect a range of purchasing options across these platforms, providing flexibility for potential buyers. The pricing strategy aims to position the OnePlus Nord 6 competitively within the mid-range smartphone market in India.

Specifications of OnePlus Nord 6

The OnePlus Nord 6 will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, offering configurations of up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage. In contrast, the OnePlus Nord 5 featured a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor paired with similar RAM options but supported UFS 3.1 storage.

For photography enthusiasts, the new model will retain the 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA primary sensor accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens. However, the front-facing camera’s transition to a 32-megapixel punch-hole design may disappoint some users accustomed to the higher resolution of its predecessor.

In terms of display features, the OnePlus Nord 6 is expected to make significant improvements. The smartphone will boast a display capable of a 165Hz refresh rate, peaking at 1,800 nits of brightness, with a reduced minimum brightness of 2 nits suited for low-light environments. This stands in contrast to the OnePlus Nord 5, which offered a 144Hz refresh rate and brightness ranging from 800 to 1,800 nits.

The device will be equipped with an impressive 9,000mAh battery, supporting 80W wired fast charging and 27W reverse wired charging. This development marks a substantial upgrade from the Nord 5’s 6,800mAh battery and its charging capabilities. These features are aimed at delivering enhanced user experience and virtually eliminating downtime for charging.
