The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is anticipated to make public the provisional answer key along with candidates’ response sheets for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2026 shortly. Official sources indicate that the results are slated for announcement by September 30, pursuant to the established examination timetable. However, as of now, the board has not disclosed a specific date for the release of the answer key.

This year marks a significant shift in the process, as the NBEMS will publish the answer key and recorded responses for the first time. This change is being implemented in accordance with directions from the Supreme Court regarding the need for increased transparency in examinations.

Details On Accessing The Answer Key

Candidates will have the opportunity to scrutinise question IDs along with the correct answers and their recorded responses from the examination. This will enable them to juxtapose their answers against the provisional key, providing a method to estimate their scores before the official result is released. Should an objection facility be available, candidates will need to adhere to the instructions and timelines specified in the official notification.

To access the NEET PG answer key, candidates must navigate to the official NBEMS website, nbe.edu.in, and locate the NEET PG 2026 section. Following this, they should click on the answer key and response sheet link, input their application number and date of birth or password, and submit the details to view their response sheet. Once accessed, they can download and save these documents for their records.

The NEET PG 2026 examination took place on August 30 in a single session from 9 am to 12:30 pm. Out of a total of 2,73,096 registered candidates, 2,65,980 participated in the exam. The computer-based test was held across 1,111 centres in 339 cities throughout India.

Post-Result Process and Admissions

Following the announcement of results, candidates will have the ability to view their scorecards and determine their qualifying status through the official website.
