Minor Allegedly Commits Suicide After Gang Rape by Minors

A minor girl in the Khuja region of Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district died after allegedly being gang raped by three other minors, aged between 13 years to 17 years old. According to the local police, the incident occurred on June 28 after the teenage boys allegedly abducted a young girl and her three-year-old Brother, luring them for a bicycle ride.

However, instead of a bicycle ride, the suspects reportedly led the girl into a remote area where she was gang raped. The incident came to light after the girl narrated the ordeal upon returning home.

A complaint was filed under Section 70(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) (gang rape), along with relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Officials have been able to detain one accused so far, sending him to a juvenile home, while the other two are still absconding, according to national media reports.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday morning, when the mother of the deceased returned home from her office, she found the house locked from the inside. Despite repeated knocking, there was no response. Eventually, the mother decided to enter the house. As she entered through the roof, she found the girl hanging. Local residents immediately informed the police and rushed the victim to the hospital, where she was declared dead.

“After the assault, the traumatised girl used to remain silent and always stayed at home. She was under severe mental stress,” said one of the victim’s close relatives to national media.

According to Circle Officer Poornima Singh, no suicide note was found at the scene.

“The woman had left her son at a relative’s house, leaving the daughter alone at home. No suicide note was discovered. The body was handed over to the family after the post-mortem examination,” said Singh to national media.
