The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has published the expected schedule for the 2027 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations. The Class 12 HSC written exams are set to take place from February 8 to March 16, 2027. In contrast, the Class 10 SSC exams will be conducted from February 15 to March 11, 2027. This announcement was made in a press note issued on Thursday, September 17, allowing students and educational institutions to prepare accordingly.

Assessment Schedule Before Written Examinations

In addition to the written exams, students should be aware that practical, graded, oral, and internal assessments are scheduled prior to the written evaluations. For Class 12 HSC, the practical evaluations will occur from January 20 to February 6, 2027. Students appearing for Class 10 SSC will have their practical assessments from January 28 to February 13, 2027. These assessment dates are crucial for students as they will help structure their revision schedules effectively.

The internal evaluation periods are specifically designed to support both HSC and SSC students in their preparations. For HSC students, the practical assessment precedes the written exams, whereas SSC students will begin with practical evaluations before their written tests commence. The examination processes will be managed through nine divisional boards across Maharashtra, which include Pune, Nagpur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Mumbai, Kolhapur, Amravati, Nashik, Latur, and Konkan. Each board will be responsible for the orderly conduct of both HSC and SSC examinations. This decentralisation of the examination process is intended to ensure that logistics run smoothly and to accommodate the large number of students across the state.
