Honda Elevate Facelift Set to Launch in India on October 6

The CSR Journal Magazine

Honda Cars India is preparing to unveil the updated Elevate SUV in India on October 6. Pre-launch bookings have already commenced nationwide, allowing customers to secure the facelifted vehicle at an authorised Honda dealership for a booking fee of Rs 21,000. Notably, India will be the first market globally to witness the introduction of the revamped Honda Elevate.

The launch of the facelifted model occurs just ahead of the festive season, positioning it well to attract potential buyers. The updated version is expected to feature significant styling alterations, additional functionalities, and enhancements to the cabin, while maintaining the same mechanical setup as its predecessor.

Anticipated Changes in Design

Honda has teased the updated Elevate, showcasing some of the design modifications the SUV will undergo. The overall shape and proportions of the vehicle are expected to remain similar, yet the front-end design will receive a more distinctive treatment. A prominent change includes the installation of connected LED daytime running lights, which will enhance the visual appeal of the front segment.

Moreover, the Honda logo has been relocated from the grille to the bonnet, contributing to a fresh visual identity for the vehicle. At the rear, the facelift model is likely to come equipped with a connected lightbar, while revisions to the front grille and bumpers, alongside redesigned alloy wheels and updated lighting features, may further set the new design apart from the previous model.

The overall enhancements indicate that the Elevate facelift is an evolution rather than an extensive redesign, focusing on refinement and modernisation of existing features.

New Features Expected in the Cabin

The interior of the Honda Elevate is likely to see considerable upgrades, aimed at making it more competitive with newer entrants in the mid-size SUV market. Changes may include improved upholstery and detailing within the cabin, alongside new features that were previously unavailable in the Elevate.

Among the anticipated upgrades, ventilated front seats could become standard, aligning the Elevate with several competing models that offer this feature. In addition, a factory-fitted 360-degree camera may replace the current dealer-installed accessory option.

Other possible enhancements include a power-adjustable co-driver’s seat, rear sunblinds, and dual-zone climate control. However, Honda has yet to disclose the full roster of features that will accompany the updated SUV.

Mechanical Specifications and Pricing Insights

It is expected that the mechanical aspects of the Elevate will remain consistent with the current model. The existing Honda Elevate is powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine, delivering 120bhp and 145Nm of torque. Buyers have the option of a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-step CVT automatic gearbox.

While Honda offers a hybrid powertrain with the City model, there has been no indication that this option will be made available with the Elevate facelift. Pricing for the current Elevate ranges between Rs 11.90 lakh and Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom), and the updated model is expected to carry a premium due to its enhancements, with official pricing details to be revealed during the launch event on October 6.

The updated Elevate will compete in the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment in India, facing rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Sierra, Renault Duster, Nissan Tekto, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Maruti Suzuki Victoris. With this facelift, Honda aims to address existing gaps while retaining the familiar attributes of the SUV package.
