The tragic death of a 23-year-old man in Meerut has resulted in the arrest of his father, who is regarded as the main suspect in the case. Tushar Tyagi was found shot inside a vehicle parked along a highway on June 1 at approximately midnight. His body was reportedly located near the Panchi underpass in the Khar Khoda area, prompting immediate police investigation.

Investigation Progress and Arrests

The police acted swiftly, receiving a distress call via Dial-112 regarding the incident. Upon learning of Tushar’s death, officers began their inquiry and registered a murder case based on a complaint filed by his wife, Shikha. Within 24 hours of the discovery, law enforcement identified Sunder Tyagi, Tushar’s father, as the prime suspect and arrested him along with an associate named Amit, also known as Vedwan. Efforts continue to apprehend another individual linked to the murder.

Authorities have stated they utilised a range of investigative techniques, including the analysis of technical evidence and CCTV footage. This examination revealed movements of the victim’s SUV and the accused’s vehicle proceeding together before the shooting occurred. Furthermore, police revealed that Sunder Tyagi had travelled from Dehradun to Kankerkhera on the day of the incident, subsequently moving to the Kaili area with Amit.

During interrogations, it was disclosed that Sunder was allegedly in the vehicle with Tushar at the time of the incident and had reportedly shot his son. After committing the act, Sunder and Amit allegedly abandoned both the body and the car at the crime scene before fleeing the area.

Motivation Behind the Alleged Crime

Investigators indicate that Sunder Tyagi harboured suspicions that Tushar had taken out a contract to have him killed, allegedly involving a payment of Rs 10 lakh. The relationship within the family appears to have been strained, with Sunder indicating that Tushar had a history of violence towards family members. This turbulent dynamic may have contributed to the tragic outcome.

Furthermore, Sunder Tyagi is not unfamiliar with law enforcement, as he reportedly has a history as a criminal. He is described as a former history-sheeter at the Hapur Dehat police station and has multiple criminal charges, including previous allegations of murder, filed against him. This background could potentially influence ongoing investigations and court proceedings.

As the probe continues, law enforcement officials are remaining vigilant in their efforts to gather all necessary evidence and ensure that justice is served in this disturbing case.
