Washroom automation accessory brand Euronics have donated Rs. 2.7 million (27 lakh) to the Namami Gange Programme. As a part of their CSR undertaking this project is in sync with the company’s ethos to celebrate hygiene and sustainable lifestyle. Namami Gange is one of the biggest undertakings of the Government of India and supporting them in this endeavour is an honour for Euronics.
Viknesh Jain, CEO and MD, Euronics, said, “This association with the Namami Gange Programme is close to us as responsible citizens of this country. Ganga is said to be one of the most precious rivers in the country and to save this jewel we are contributing to ensure that its beauty is preserved for years to come. We would like to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi to give us this platform to save our river and also to inculcate the great history it has to our future generations.”
Under this programme, the Indian government has three main focal points – pollution, conservation and rejuvenation of the river. It would be taking this ahead with Sewage Water Treatment Infrastructure, River Front Development, River Surface Cleaning, Biodiversity, Public Awareness, Afforestation, Industrial Effluent Monitoring, and Ganga Gram.
