It’s been five years since the mysterious death of Celebrity Manager Disha Salian. She was the former manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. However the incident has taken a new turn as her father, Satish Salian, filed a petition in the Bombay High Court. The petition seeks a fresh investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
Disha’s father alleges that his daughter was brutally raped and murdered. He further claims that the whole incident was a cover-up to protect influential political figures. Satish Salian is now seeking an FIR against Shiv Sena-UBT leader Aaditya Thackeray. He also requests to transfer the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Who was Disha?
Disha Salian was a famous celebrity manager in the Indian entertainment industry. She had worked with many Bollywood and Television celebrities, including the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
Disha was found dead on June 8, 2020, after allegedly falling from the 14th floor of a residential building in Malad. Initially, the Police registered the case as an Accidental Death Report (ADR). However, her family now alleges foul play claiming it was a murder.
Her father also claimed that on June 8, Disha organised a home party at her house. The party was attended by Aaditya Thackeray, accompanied by his bodyguards along with actors Sooraj Pancholi and Dino Morea.
The plea reads: “The photographic evidence proves that the official post-mortem report was tampered with to match the fabricated suicide narrative created by the accused and the complicit police officers.”
Allegations of Murder
Satish Salian in his petition has accused his daughter of being brutally assaulted and murdered. He is particularly alleging the involvement of Shiv Sena-UBT leader Aaditya Thackeray. Advocate Nilesh Ojha, representing the family, has confirmed that the petition is in the process of being formally filed. He further stated that it will soon be registered with the High Court.
Ojha, also pointed out that the initial investigation was rushed. According to the plea, the post-mortem timelines of Disha and Sushant Singh Rajput had vast differences. It claimed that while Rajput’s autopsy was conducted on the same day of his death, the post-mortem of Disha was delayed by over 50 hours.
The Connection to Sushant Singh Rajput’s Death
However, there were speculations of a possible connection between the two cases. That is Disha’s death to Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise that occurred just days later. Salian is determined to uncover the truth behind his daughter’s death, emphasising inconsistencies at the crime scene, such as the lack of injuries that would typically occur from such a fall.
Shiv Sena’s Response
Shiv Sena-UBT has responded with skepticism. Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut indicated politics behind the petition, questioning why it was filed after five years.
Raut said, “I have looked at the police investigation, and it was an accident, not a murder… Her father has filed a petition five years after the incident. The whole state knows the politics behind this petition… They (BJP) are giving wind to the Disha Salian case to wash their hands off of the Aurangzeb issue”.
As the petition progresses, Satish Salian hopes the reopening of the case will bring clarity and justice to his daughter’s death.
