Delhi CM to Move in Her Official Bungalow in Civil lines

The Delhi CM Rekha Gupta will move into her new government bungalow in North Delhi Civil Lines area, according to officials. She could move into her official residence after almost 4 months of taking charge as Chief Minister. Repair and renovation work has also started at the two houses in the area. Currently, Rekha Gupta was living with her family in Shalimar Bagh.

“An allotment letter has been issued… There are four bungalows in this part of Civil Lines where the Deputy Speaker and the Social Welfare Minister have been allotted houses. The remaining two bungalows have been allotted to the CM—one residence and another as a camp office,” said a government source to the National.

Renovation Cost

After new houses are allocated to new government allottees, renovation and repair, including whitewash, window and terrace cleaning, and other works, begin. The PWD has also floated multiple tenders for the renovation of ministers’ bungalows and senior government officials’ bungalows and the construction of a camp office. The estimated cost of the upgrade is ₹47,00,000 and the work is likely to be completed in two months. According to another tender for similar work, the cost has been passed at ₹90,00,000.

National Media states that the CM was looking for a house in Delhi, but since these are under the Centre, an exchange has been made with the Delhi government. The exchange is taking time because appropriate houses are not available.
