The CSR Journal Magazine

A 15-year-old boy lost his life and two others suffered injuries after a Mahindra Thar vehicle fell off a 100-foot cliff during a stunt in Faridabad, Haryana, on Tuesday. The driver, identified as 20-year-old Vikas, was maneuvering the SUV when the tragedy occurred. The deceased was a student in Class 9, and his father is employed by a private company. Emergency responders pronounced the boy dead at the scene, while Vikas and another minor, 16-year-old Hemant, were taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Police reports indicate that Vikas’s family had recently acquired the Thar about a month prior to the incident. On the day of the accident, Vikas invited the victim and another friend for a drive, and the trio ventured out into a hilly area about one kilometer off the Sohna-Ballabhgarh main road. After parking the vehicle near the edge of a cliff, they began attempting various stunts.

Stunt Attempt Turns Fatal

During the stunt, Vikas reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to tumble into the gorge. Bystanders who witnessed the incident hurried to the location and, after considerable effort, managed to rescue the three individuals from the crash site. They were promptly transported to a nearby hospital where medical personnel declared the Class 9 student deceased upon arrival. Vikas and Hemant were subsequently admitted to Al-Falah Hospital in Dhauj for medical treatment.

Rescue Efforts and Medical Response

Following the accident, the hospital administration notified local authorities, prompting police to rush to the scene. Dhauj Station House Officer Darpan Kumar confirmed that an investigation has been initiated into the circumstances surrounding the incident. The victim’s body was sent to Badshah Khan Hospital for a post-mortem examination, while a crane was utilized to recover the Mahindra Thar from the cliff.

Police Investigation Underway

Authorities announced that further inquiries are currently ongoing to ascertain more details regarding the events leading up to the accident. The community mourns the loss of the young student, and the incident raises serious concerns about safety while performing vehicular stunts.
