Child Abuse Awareness Session held at Govandi MPS School

Child Abuse Awareness Session held at Govandi MPS School
Mumbai, India: Due to the increasing cases of child abuse causing alarm across the nation, the Debabrata Auro Foundation (DAF) has made an important move to address this pressing issue. As a part of their ongoing CSR initiatives, DAF organised an awareness session at the Municipal BMC School in Govandi, for 50 children. This session educated children regarding safe and unsafe touches and physical, emotional, verbal abuse and sexual abuse. This critical initiative encouraged children to voice their concerns rather than suffer in silence which causes trauma and scars for life.
Child abuse awareness is vital, not just for the safety of vulnerable children but also for creating healthy environments. “This awareness session aimed to educate children and the community on the pressing issue of child abuse, with a focus on recognizing different types of abuse and empowering children to protect themselves. The event was designed to elevate awareness, highlight the prevalence and effects of child abuse, and introduce available support resources to enhance child safety. During the session, children were taught about safe and unsafe touches, helping them understand how to identify potentially harmful situations.
The discussion covered various forms of child abuse, including physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, as well as neglect. Participants were provided with practical strategies to keep themselves safe and were encouraged to speak up if they ever felt threatened. The session also stressed the importance of creating a safe environment at home and within the community, equipping the children with the knowledge they need to navigate difficult situations,” said Dr Debraj Shome, Director and Founder of Debabrata Auro Foundation (DAF).
“The impact of the session was significant, successfully raising awareness about child abuse and its effects. Children left the event with a better understanding of how to protect themselves and were provided with educational materials to reinforce the lessons learned. To further support the children’s growth and emphasize the value of education, the DAF NGO distributed books to all 50 students present at the session. This initiative not only improved awareness but also laid the foundation for ongoing advocacy and support for child safety in underserved communities,” concluded Dr Rinky Kapoor.

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath inaugurates multiple projects in Mathura

Ahead of Janmashtami, the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath laid the foundation stone of about 178 projects worth Rs 1037 crore on Sunday. The CM is on a two-day visit to the city, which is significant for the Hindu community for being the birthplace of Lord Krishna and is witnessing grand celebrations on the occasion of Janmashtami. A series of projects have been inaugurated in the Braj region.
CM Yogi Adityanath inaugurated a newly built auditorium at Dampier Nagar, the Radha Rani ropeway in Barsana, the Yamuna cruise. The Radha Rani ropeway will make it convenient for visitors and devotees who earlier had to climb 251 steps to reach the Radha Rani temple. The ropeway project, executed by the Mathura Vrindavan Development Authority (MVDA) under a Public Private Partnership (PPP) model, cost INR 15.89 crore. The ropeway spans 300 meters, is at a height of 30 metres from the ground and takes roughly 7 minutes to reach the temple.

Flat transfer and rent complaint in Mumbai made easier with Slum Rehabilitation Authority’s online services

Flat transfer and rent complaint in Mumbai made easier with Slum Rehabilitation Authority’s online services
The procedures of flat transfer and rent complaint in Mumbai have been made easier with Slum Rehabilitation Authority’s (SRA) latest online services. This service has been initiated and implemented by Dr. Mahendra Kalyankar, CEO, SRA.
Earlier, slum dwellers had to fill a complaint form physically and submit regarding the slum authority’s rent, and they had to fill a transfer form for the transfer (purchase/sale) of the flat. For this they had to visit the Authority office several times or take assistance from middlemen. To make things hassle-free for consumers and to prevent any kind of fraud, now all these processes have been made available online. Slum owners in the SRA scheme now can transfer their flats online at any time, from anywhere and they also can register their complaints about rent.

Nagari Seva

A “Nagari Seva” (Citizen service) on the authorised website www.sra.gov.in has been initiated for flat/shop transfer and complaints about the rent. Visit the official website of SRA and click on the option “Nagari Seva” (Citizen service) and select “Rent Management system” for Rent complaints or “Transfer of Flats/shop” for flat/shop transfer.
