Bihar: Setback for RJD, Court gives permission to frame charge in IRCTC case

The CSR Journal Magazine

Today Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court has given permission to frame charges against RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi and Tejashwi Yadav in the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) scam. This decision of the court is being considered a big blow for Lalu Yadav because assembly elections are to be held in Bihar.

Charges framed under different sections

In the country’s famous IRCTC scam, Lalu Yadav and others are accused of selling a hotel. The court said during the hearing that the CBI, which is investigating the case, has leveled corruption charges against Lalu. After this, the court quoted CBI and said that a conspiracy was hatched with the knowledge of Lalu. The court has framed charges against the accused under different sections based on their role in the case.

Fraud case against Rabri Devi and Tejashwi

Charges have been framed against Rabri Devi and Tejashwi Yadav under sections 420 and 120B of IPC for cheating and conspiracy. It is obvious that now the problems of Lalu family have increased before Bihar elections. Let us tell you that the allegation in this case is that the contracts for the maintenance of IRCTC hotels were given in exchange for three acres of valuable land acquired from an anonymous company linked to Lalu Prasad Yadav.

Case was registered in 2017

On July 7, 2017, CBI registered an FIR and raided 12 locations located in Patna, New Delhi, Ranchi and Gurugram related to Lalu Prasad and his family. CBI claims that they have enough evidence to frame charges against all the accused. Whereas Lalu Prasad’s lawyer argues that there is no legal argument for continuing the case against him in this case.

I am not guilty: Lalu Yadav

On this day, after the charges were framed by the court, Lalu Yadav said that I am not guilty. Whereas Rabri Devi said that I am not involved in any kind of conspiracy or fraud.
