A remark by Bihar Public Service Commission Examination Controller Rajesh Kumar Singh has triggered a fresh controversy amid protests over the 70th BPSC examination and allegations of irregularities and a purported paper leak.

Speaking to the media, Singh said, “Hathi chale bazaar, kutta bhaunke hazaar” (An elephant walks through the market while a thousand dogs bark) while responding to questions about the allegations. The comments came as students continued their protest at Patna’s Gardanibagh.

BPSC Official Responds To Paper Leak Allegations

Singh was questioned by reporters about allegations of irregularities and a purported paper leak in the 70th BPSC examination.

He said students who believed they had evidence to support their allegations could approach the court.

Before making the controversial remark, Singh reportedly asked media personnel not to include his next statement in their reports. He then made the comment comparing an elephant walking through a market with a thousand dogs barking.

The remark has drawn attention amid the continuing agitation by students demanding action over the examination.

Students Demand Cancellation Of 70th BPSC Exam

Students protesting at Gardanibagh have been demanding the cancellation of the 70th BPSC examination, citing alleged irregularities and paper leakage.

The agitation has also focused on the proposed Teacher Recruitment Examination – Fourth Phase (TRE-4) process.

Protesters are demanding that the government release the TRE-4 advertisement and have raised objections to the proposal to conduct the recruitment examination in two phases.

The student protests have therefore centred on both the 70th BPSC examination and the proposed changes to the TRE-4 recruitment process.

Protesters have continued to raise concerns over the examination arrangements and are seeking clarity and action from the authorities.
