Arvind Limited launched KaiGO, a business division having two verticals namely Components & Spares, and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) services, specializing in waste-water management. Through KaiGO and its sister concern Envisol, Arvind will focus on creating end-to-end solutions across Projects, Components and Services for water treatment, industrial wastewater treatment, sewage treatment, desalination and zero liquid discharge at minimal cost. This will be useful for EPC players and end users across water-intensive industries like textiles, tanneries, pharmaceuticals, oil & gas, food & beverages etc.
The Components and Spares vertical include the products or technologies used in the creation and maintenance of an efficient wastewater treatment system. The range includes diverse products like MBR/RO/UF/NF Membranes, FRP Pressure Tanks & Tubes, Dosing pumps, DAF (Dissolved Air Flotation), Screens & Dewatering systems, MBBR Media, Jet mixers, Diffusers and treatment Chemicals.
The O&M vertical provides services spanning across a wide spectrum such as complete responsibility of operations and maintenance of a plant; annual on-site maintenance and checking of equipment, as well as revamping and retrofitting of existing water and wastewater treatment plants.
Speaking about the launch of Arvind KaiGO, Mr Ashish Kumar, CEO, Arvind Envisol, said, “We are passionate about boosting sustainable environmental solutions amongst Indian industries, without hampering productivity. Indian companies have historically relied on multinationals for water treatment components. They seek out different providers for varying components and services. However, KaiGO ensures that we provide for any water-related service and high-quality components locally, so that a customer saves valuable resources and time in areas like customization, logistics and ease of transacting.”
According to a 2015 report by the Central Pollution Control board, India generates more than 61,754 MLD (million litres per day) of wastewater but can treat only 37% (22,963 MLD) of it, the balance is largely discharged into natural water sources without proper treatment. The solution developed by Arvind makes Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) technology more affordable by going local and decreasing dependence on foreign providers. It also cuts lead times by up to 50 percent, ensuring agile supply chains. Arvind’s local manufacturing strength provides the company the ability to facilitate reliable O&M services with a single-window resolution. KaiGO boasts of a state-of-the-art manufacturing unit and a robust R&D team. The company is currently the only Indian player to assemble and supply membrane bioreactors (MBRs), which are extremely important for industrial water management. KaiGO also makes other critical components like FRP tanks and tubes.
Envisol, KaiGO’s sister concern has more than 38 registered patents across the globe. The company is presently working with over 15 countries across the globe.
