Ali Zafar Apologizes for Outfit Choice on Eid, Promises Not to Repeat

The CSR Journal Magazine

Pakistani actor and singer Ali Zafar has publicly apologized for his choice of attire during Eid celebrations. The 45-year-old faced significant criticism on social media after being photographed in a kurta without wearing an undershirt. In response to the backlash, Zafar addressed the issue humorously, acknowledging that it had become a topic of major concern for many.

Humorous Apology Shared Online

Zafar took to social media to share a sarcastic apology, stating, “I want to apologise to the nation for wearing a kurta without an undershirt and for performing the very serious act of watering plants while dressed in a traditional ajrak and dhoti on Eid.” His self-deprecating remarks included a note that he recognizes this fashion decision has recently become “one of the most important national and global issues affecting everyone’s lives.” He assured his audience that he would strive not to repeat such a mistake and expressed gratitude to those who highlighted the matter.

Social Media Accounts Impacted

While Ali Zafar’s Instagram account is currently unavailable in India, a screenshot of his humorous post gained considerable traction on various social media platforms. This incident is part of a broader trend affecting other Pakistani celebrities, including Hania Aamir and Mahira Khan, whose Instagram accounts have also been disabled in the country.

Instagram Accessibility Issues in India

Users in India are unable to access the aforementioned accounts and receive a notification stating: “Account not available in India. This is because we complied with a legal request to restrict this content.” This restriction comes amidst heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, particularly following a terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which claimed the lives of 26 individuals.

Ali Zafar’s Filmography in India

Ali Zafar has appeared in several Indian films, including “Tere Bin Laden” (2010), “Mere Brother Ki Dulhan” (2011), “Chashme Baddoor” (2013), and “Dear Zindagi” (2016). Despite the current challenges related to his social media presence, his previous work in Indian cinema remains notable among fans of both countries.
